All Aboard the Star Trek Klingon Bird of Prey
In the Star Trek television and movie series, the Klingon Empire uses several classes of starships. The first Klingon ship design that was used in the original Star Trek television series is the D7-class battle cruiser. It was designed by Matt Jefferies. He got the inspiration from the manta-ray. Various other Klingon ships appeared after that.
Most of these are equipped with a certain form of sublight engine and superluminal propulsion technology that is called warp dive. All these warships are designed to be heavily armed, having particle beam weapons such as photon torpedos and even an antimatter weapon. More modern Klingon ships came with cloaking devices.
Those that came later on were designed by Rick Sternbach. The ships depicted that alliance between the Starfleet and Klingons. Klingon ship names usually have a prefix IKS, which stands for Imperial Klingon Starship. If you’re able to see all the models and designs of ships from this empire, you’ll be astounded to the point that you’ll wonder if such things exist in real life in outer space.
Bird of Prey is one of the most popular starships in the Klingon empire. But this name is also used for various makes of Romulan warships. Variations of the bird of prey ships include Bird of Prey 2260s, Bird of Prey 22nd Century and many more.
Don’t miss the chance to own your own starship. It’s not the real thing but it still pretty amazing. Download a free Star Trek Klingon Bird of Prey wallpaper for your computer.
