Borg Cube chases USS Defiant
Borg Cubes are extremely huge primary vessels of the Borg Collective. Some has a volume of 28 cubic kilometer and is estimated to still be able to operate even when 78 percent is inoperable.
Borg cubes have a network of transwarp corridors and hubs that enables it to enter a warp and transwarps. It is able to stand the extreme gravimetric shear and temporal stress.
When it comes to tactics, the cubes use a progressive approach in order to fully engage a vessel and do with it whatever is necessary. The first step is to seize it with a tractor beam in order to drain its shields. When the ship is fully defenseless, it uses a high energy laser cutting beam to slice portions of the vessel and sometimes to fully destroy it.
Another purpose of the Borg cube is for holding Borg spheres to be assimilated, refill supplies, or for escape purposes. Borg spheres are support vehicles possessed by the cubes and are recorded to be used as an escape pod. It could be manned by somewhere between 5,000 to 129,000 drones at a time. A Borg cube has no specific bridges, quarters or engineering sections unlike warships and is highly decentralized. It has waveguide conduits and distribution nodes for information and collective communication. The outside of the sphere has perpendicular and diagonal grids, struts, and weaponry plus a green light emanating from inside. The inside is made from tritanium.
