The Amazing Security Chief Odo

Odo was one special Star Trek Charcter. He was of the Changeling species from the Rogue planet in Omarion Nebula. He was sent forth by The Founders very long ago to study the galaxy andf somehow he’d lost his way as he was found adrift by the Bajorans in Denorios Belt on 2356. He was in gelatinous form and was labelled as an unknown sample or odo’ital. Even after he became sentient and was subjected under the study of Dr. Mora Pol, whom he hates, he was still regarded as the unknown sample and was eventually called Odo to shorten it. He returns to his gelatinous state to rest and also to hide in several places.

Odo is a shape shifter but being alone for so long, drifting in the universe and not growing up with any of his kind, he can never duplicate a humanoid appearance with precision. When other forms or kinds like Odo appear in Star Trek, they adapt the unfinished state to make him feel at ease although they could transform into a precise humanoid. The Founders call Odo ‘solid’ or ‘monoform.’ As this is the case, Odo finds himself still alone and feels like an outsider. Due to his neutrality, the Bajorans rely on him to settle disputes. He also later on worked as a Security Officer but his lack of knowledge regarding his own people and other species had also caused him to make lapse judgements. But after his own realizations he was able to make-up for his lapse judgements.

He was able to establish a romantic relationship with Kira Nerys and maintain loyalty to the Bajorans. He was also eager to convince The Founders to trust other species again. He has his “Rules of Obedience” and takes them by heart.
