Who is Captain Benjamin Sisko
Benjamin Sisko is from the human species in planet Earth. His character was played by actor Avery Brooks in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. he was born in 2332 to Joseph and Sarah Sisko who lived in New Orleans, Louisiana. His parents had a happy marriage despite the truth that Sarah was under the influence of another entity who manipulated her to marry Joseph and give birth to a son. Sarah disappeared two days after Benjamin’s first birthday and died several years after that.
Benjamin Sisko entered the Starfleet Academy in 2350. After his study, he married a woman named Jennifer and they had a son named Jake. As an officer in Starfleet, Benjamin’s mentor was Curzon Dax while onboard USS Livingston. Dax was a joined Trill who served as a Federation ambassador under the Klingon Empire. Benjamin somehow adopted the symbiotic nature of Trill which became significant in his later encounters and relationships with Jadzia Dax and Ezri Dax in DS9.
It was 2369 when Sisko was assigned in Bajoran to command Deep Space 9 and help the Bajoran species recover from the Cardassian occupation. He began residing in the station with his son, Jake. Although reluctant to stay in the station due to its environment and to the presence of Jean-Luc Picard, Benjamin stayed on the station to finish his mission. With Jadzia Dax, he visited the Bajors. The Bajor’s called him ‘The Emissary of the Prophets,’ and presented to him the Tears of the Prophet – a mysterious Orb that supposedly came from their Prophets. It was through the orb that they were able to see the first stable wormhole.
Sisko finished his mission in DS9 and at the end, fulfilled the Bajor Prophets’ declared destiny of the commander. he was pulled into the Prophets’ plane of existence after he won over Dukat in a fight. He was to live in the plane and learn from the prophets.
