Mekhlar Class Destroyer Profile
The Mekhlar Class Destroyer’s manufacture started in 2320s and is intended to be the Klingon Empire’s front liner warship vessel. The production stopped when the empire decided on a larger and more sophisticated warship as front liners, which is the Vorcha. Other larger ships of the empire include The Birds of Prey and the K’Tinga Class. These ships were heavily armed and equipped with warp drives for attacks and defence. The principle lies in the superiority of the ships rather than the number.
By the year 2400, the Elorg War had destroyed much of the Klingon superior ships, paving way for the redesigning and production of the Mekhlar Class. These new ships have the transwarp system and a capacity of 65 quantum torpedoes. The ship has five decks that can contain 14 crews. It is 104 meters long and 25 meter high with a beam of 106 meters. In addition to the 65 torpedoes, it has the capacity for 2x mark 12 pulse disruptor canon with a total output of twenty thousand terawatts and a 1x triple-fire quantum torpedo tube to launch the 65 torpedoes.
The defence system is designed with a standard shield system of 1,107,000 tera joules and a standard level structural integrity field. It also has a standard duranium/tritanium single hull of 7.8 high density armor. It has an overall strength index of 413; maneuverability falling to 11, 920. The normal cruise speed is warp 11.0 and the maximum is warp 12.5 for six hours. The ship has a hull life that lasts 40 years and by the dawn of the 25th century, it is the new face of the Klingon Empire.
