The Romulan’s Warbird
Every known species in the show Star Trek had their own futuristic flag ship, explorers, transporters, and warbirds. For the Romulans, the D’dreidex Class warbird was their pride – being the largest ship and most powerful mainstay ship in the Romulan Star Empire. It has a length twice as that of the Galaxy-class. The D’deridex class served as the backbone of the Romulan fleet during the late 24th century.
The Tal Shiar operated the ship and all its armaments and defense system. This huge warbird has more than 45 decks. It has a bridge, a ready room, several ward room, engine room, procedure room, shuttle bay, cargo bay, several crew quarters, and numerous long and winding corridors. The ship has a speed of warp 6 when using the cloaking device and a speed of up to warp 9 when not cloaked. Warp 9 is the maximum speed because at warp 9.6 the ship could attain irreparable damage already.
A Warbird of course isn’t one without its armaments. The D’deridex class has disruptor arrays, phasers, photon torpedo launchers, and primary disruptor arrays. Its defense system is made-up of deflector shields and the latest Romulan cloaking device. This battle cruiser uses a power source called forced quantum singularity. This bird is the most advances ship in the whole Alpha Quadrant. Majority of the weapon system together with the bridge and the engineering room of the ship is found at its head.
